Designed next to the Riga-Valmiera highway in the smallest Hansa city in Europe - Straupe project pays respect to local building traditions and materials, but also provides modern and effective space for local bakery.

Designed as a linear building with production facilities and a cafe providing clients with the opportunity to experience local produce.

Building volume is created by simple, energy and cost effective Aeroc aerated concrete walls, with timber structure roofs, that draw inspiration in historic architecture of the local area. Roof cladding in clay tiles talks to the existing Straupe castle and school building next to this land plot.

Project is completed and approved in sketch stage and awaits Clients decision of investment and building.
