Designed in the commercial outskirts of Riga, Retail Center Komforts has been in development since 2007, when the first stage of the Retail Center was build. Since then - several extensions have been completed in 2010, 2014 and 2020 to acquire the current form.

Designed for the largest sanitary ware and HVAC retailer in Latvia with more than 4000 Sq.m. showroom and 6000 Sq.m. warehouse this is the largest specialized shop of this kind in north Europe.

Showroom is set out in radial form with partial balcony/mezzanine that houses retail and office space. Even though building is designed as a functional object as a main priority, showroom design uses bold form and attention to detail and material. Use of exposed steel structure and use of plywood and exposed concrete for facade elements can be seen in the showroom area. Warehouse areas are designed for maximum cost and functional efficiency.

Showroom interiors are characterized by extensive use of exposed untreated steel interior elements both in building elements (stairs, floor etc.) as well as for the showroom stands and exposition.

This building also houses the HQ of the retail company EVA-SAT as well as office for M.A.DESIGN Architects. There is ongoing work for future extensions of the building including 500Sq.m. office area and new HQ and office for the M.A.DESIGN architects to be completed in 2024-2025.
